I used to think Jones was kinda tight, but “Pop Champagne” really bummed me out. But anyway 32 year olds don’t start fights. Plus, why would Jones instigate a brawl with Ne-Yo’s entourage? That’s not gangsta! I wonder if the Judge saw Jim Jones smoking a blunt on his way to turn himself in. He was really smart to release the footage. I’m ready to read what Cam has to say in the new XXL.
Harlem, New York rapper Jim Jones appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning (February 4), where he pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault charges.
The rapper was officially charged on January 5, for his role in a Christmas Eve brawl with members of Ne-Yo’s entourage. (more…)

Effective today (January 27), independent powerhouse Koch Records will now be known as E1 Music.
The initiative comes directly from parent company E1 Entertainment, in a concerted effort to merge their portfolio of over 100 global subsidiaries under one umbrella.
The company’s urban division will remain in New York City, while the main office is set to relocate to Long Island, NY by the end of February.
The name change comes as the company plans a loaded 2009 with anticipated 1st quarter releases from D-Block, Alchemist, Juelz Santana’s Skull Gang, Havoc of Mobb Deep, and Slim Thug.
“We are looking at the best year in our history,” an excited Alan Grunblatt, General Manger of E1 Music, told AllHipHop.com. “We are just changing our name to E1 and will continue to change the game.”
With a library of over 15,000 songs and 3,700 feature films, E1 Music President Bob Frank is confident the label will maintain its near-decade of dominance in the independent Hip-Hop scene. (more…)
Jim Jones was born in July of 1976. He is 32 years old. I don’t know many 32 year olds who are smart enough to get high on their way to turn themselves in for an assault chargeand have the blunt sesh filmed for a DVD. Now don’t get me wrong, Jones was a passenger in the car so he’s didn’t endanger any other drivers, but c’mon! I’m not anti-marijuana reform, either. It’s just that this display of stupidity amazes me! -Cfro
DipSet could have become the biggest movement force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop game. Take a look at some these clips from XXL’s interviews with the “three amigos” talking about the status of Dipset. -Cfro
Yeah. It’s, like, Cam is still Diplomats. We was all put in a situation where Cam told us we had roles that we never really had. We had invisible roles. And it got to a point where we was like, Damn… To be honest, Jim was never the capo, like, on paperwork. I was never the [vice] president. Cam owned everything.

Well, first, anything with Jim is never gonna go smooth. You pass Jim a blunt, he says: “Why you pass the blunt that way? Why you pass the blunt with the fire towards me? You trying to hurt me?” The Diplomats, it was always Cam’ron and the Diplomats.

It just seems that one thing led to another. Separation started, and everybody started going on their different sides, and pretty soon it was just a wrap. There was no more to it. And it was around the “Ballin’” time. I’ll never forget it. It was right after the “Ballin’” video that everything was just…pretty much over. (more…)
I recognize a lot of these strains since I lived in Amsterdam, but I never expected to see huge pictures and descriptions on CNBC. The locals (aka Dutch) smoke considerably less than Americans and people from surrounding European countries. Why? Because getting high isn’t ‘cool’ over there like it is in the States (see above video). There’s more to it than that, but one thing is for certain: prohibition doesn’t work!
Positions on the medical use of marijuana vary, but thousands of patients suffering from cancer, AIDS, and other diseases claim marijuana provides them relief from devastating symptoms such as intractable nausea, vomiting.
In a 1997 article for the The New England Journal of Medicine, Jerome P. Kassirer, M.D., wrote that physicians who prohibit prescribing marijuana for seriously ill patients are misguided, heavy-handed, and inhumane.
We asked High Times Cultivation Editor Danny Danko (lol @ dudes name) if he could help us put a cost on this relief and what types of pain they ease. See The Pictures
